Right at the mouth of Arch Canyon is an area of ruins and petroglyphs.  There was no fire blacking around this area, indicating that the function of this area was ceremonial rather than a habitation.  A quarter of a mile down the canyon, there were dwelling ruins.

Some intricate and abstract patterns in Bullet Canyon.  Where ever you find a ruin, it's worth it to inspect any likely rock surface in the area.

Although not in Utah, I stopped at a place called the Hickison Petroglyphs Recreation Area in Nevada.  The place is about 20 miles east of the town of Austin, Nevada.  Austin, by the way, is a town built in the canyon of a steep mountain...your ears pop as you drive down main street!

Another petroglyph at Hickison.
